INTRODUCTORY EVENING COURSE

Our four-week introductory evening course takes place on Wednesdays  7:00 – 8:30 PM. This course is designed to give a grounding in the basic fundamentals of the Alexander Technique and provides an ideal introduction for those new to the Technique. Each course is limited to four participants.

INTERMEDIATE 3-WEEK EVENING COURSE

We offer a three-week evening course on Thursdays 7:00 – 8:00 PM. This course is ideal for those more experienced with the Technique who wish to hone their skills further. We work on the more advanced  procedures and applications the Technique has to offer. This course is suitable for people who have already taken our introductory evening course or have had one-to-one lessons. The course is limited to 3 participants. There’s an option for a discounted follow-up one-to-one lesson if booked together with the course.

EMBODIED MINDFULNESS WITH THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE

This course takes place Tuesdays 7.30 – 8.30 PM. It is designed to convey mindfulness practices that utilise core Alexander Technique principles. The course requires no skill or prior experience, and is accessible to all ages and abilities.

The four-session course focuses on the embodied awareness of mind and body that is central to the Alexander Technique. The Technique is a mind-body strategy to wellbeing that helps us change the way we experience life.

What distinguishes our embodied mindfulness teaching from other mind/body practices is a light hands-on teaching method that uses subtle, guided touch, together with verbal instructions. On this course you will be guided into learning to:

  • Develop your sense of self-awareness and engagement
  • Practice full mind-body integration and re-alignment for a greater sense of wholeness
  • Lower stress reactions by learning to recognise and release patterns of excessive muscular tension
  • Change old habits and behaviour to develop mindful awareness in the way you move, reducing pain and fatigue by improving your postural balance
  • Develop the calming effect of Alexander Technique Inhibition of unwanted reactions to choose who or what to allow in
